In a new statement, Al-Qaeda's top Pakistani official Ustad Ahmad Farooq urged the people of Pakistan to rise up against democracy and support the mujahideen working for the establishment of Islamic sharia rule in the country.
Ustad Farooq is head of Al-Qaeda's Preaching and Media Department for Pakistan.
The statement, titled "Truth will be Victorious in the War between Islam and Democracy," was released by As-Sahab, the media production house of Al-Qaeda, and begins with condolences for Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander Maulana Waliur Rehman, who was killed recently in a U.S. drone strike in Pakistan.
In the statement, Farooq, who has a scholarly reputation, discusses the ills of democracy and the virtues of sharia, and vows that Waliur Rehman's martyrdom will bring "unity and stability among the mujahideen" and will become a cause of awareness among the Pakistani people.
Arguing that only Islam will remain in the world, he quotes the Prophet Muhammad as saying: "There will remain no house in this world where Allah
In a passionate appeal, Farooq calls for support for Taliban leader Mullah Muhammad Omar and the establishment of sharia rule. "Today, once again, the land of Waziristan – Mehsud people – has presented a part of their hearts and the most precious part of their hearts [i.e. the sacrifice of Waliur Rehman] in this bloody battle, so that this country could see the bounties of sharia and the inhabitants of this country should get rid of the American occupation and its apparatus [of influence in Pakistan]. This bashful mujahid nation is writing a glorious history of its sacrifices with its blood in very difficult and adverse circumstances... The war that is underway in the [Pakistani] tribal area is the battle for the future of the whole of [the Indian] subcontinent. And the mujahideen of Islam are erecting a wall with their dead bodies for the safeguard of their beloved people....
"No matter how much today's Dajjali [anti-Christ, or Western here] media hide facts and declare the defenders and benefactors of the Ummah as terrorists and criminals, and bestow the lickers of others' soles and worshippers of the rising sun and those calling the U.S. a deity... with titles and term them great warriors and martyrs, and say that this auspicious [jihadi] movement which advocates jihad and establishment of sharia is responsible for the destruction of this country, and call the democratic game which has taken the country to the brink of destruction a ship of salvation – have faith that this fraud spread by the media will not stand for long.
"Truth is truth. Its fragrance will be spread, despite all attempts to hide it, and it will make its own way; and false is false; it will be suppressed like foam one day."
Ustad Farooq then calls upon the people to know and recognize the real leaders, their real benefactors. He describes the mujahideen as the "wise leaders" of Muslims who "recognized the truth
