New Details: Mission That Killed Al-Awlaki Was Joint CIA/Military Operation, Same Configuration That Took Out Bin Laden

Sources tell Fox News Pentagon correspondent Jennifer Griffin that the mission was a joint CIA/Military operation – the same configuration that took out Al-Qaeda leader Usama bin Laden in early May.

New insight reveals that there were two predator drones in air above al-Awlaki’s convoy at the time of the attack, which was a standard, traditional approach; there were no troops on the ground.

Griffin reports that while the military has confirmed the cleric’s death, they do not have a body in possession.
