Trump and Putin agree to fight ISIS in Syria until its defeat

A statement on agreement between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to fight ISIS in Syria until its defeat was issued at the Asia-Pacific summit in Vietnam Saturday, after the two leaders met briefly on the sidelines. They had altogether three brief encounters in 24 hours, posing side by side for a photo in blue shirts Friday, and exchanging a few words Saturday morning before joining the other summit attendees for a group photo. They were also seen shaking hands twice. During one conversation, Trump said Putin had denied allegations of meddling in the US 2016 election.
The Kremlin added: The two leaders "agreed to maintain open military channels of communication" between US and Russian forces in Syria. They also "agreed that there is no military solution to the conflict in Syria," the Kremlin said in the statement.
